Range 5- Washington's Army (AWI)

15mm metal figures -  supplied unpainted

Want to see more?  http://lee-libertyscall.blogspot.com/    Lee has done a splendid blog with PP troops!!!  Thanks Lee

This is a new range for 2010. The range covers the American War of Independence or Revolutionary war.
The rules are called "Washington's Army". This range will be the most up to date of any manufacturer, incorporating the latest research.  There are already 160 original sculpts in this range (not just conversions of figures) with lots more on the way. This already makes the range much bigger than that of most other company's, wherein packs often only have one pose. Notice that the white stockings and bearskins beloved of AWI battles were not a  common feature on the AWI battlefield after the first few battles. Most research indicates that the bearskins did not even get to America! Flags were not always carried by British units either. The figures in this range are sculpted in battle poses rather than marching, as the units in WA are in action from the game start! This range will start a whole new interest by companies and gamers in AWI as I don't think anyone has released new 15mm AWI figures in the last few years? This will be great for the period.

Don't forget that many packs could be used for both sides.

AWI army 8- Continental (American) late war army.(WAB08)

This is army number 8 in the Washington's army rules.  This army is about as good as it gets for the Americans. It has artillery and quality regular infantry.
The packs provided will cater for the needs of the army but there may be the odd excess figure or short figure that can be diverted to where it is needed.
In WA the placement of the command base indicates the unit quality. Command base at the right/front = veteran. Command base at the centre= average. Command base at left/rear =raw.  This means you can re-configure that army at your own whim!

The commanders 4 commanders based on 3x4 cm bases. 1 General based on a 4x4 cm base. Artillery 2 field guns, each with 4 crew based on 4x4 cm bases. This is a fair bit of artillery for an AWI army.
Cavalry 3 bases of average quality dragoons. Based on 3x4 cm bases. Markers Figures to show low on ammo, disorder, casualties. All figures individually based on coins as they are markers not a part of the ranks.
Unit 1,2,3,4
Continental infantry
These are 4 units of regular line infantry. They are the backbone of the army. Each unit has 6 bases, each of four figures. 1 base of which is command.
Average quality.
Unit 5,6,7
Militia

Unit 8
Long rifle militia
This unit is armed with the long Pennsylvania rifles. This unit is average quality militia. 6 bases of 3 figures of which one base is the command base. they have a greater range but lower rate of fire.   Last updated 24th March 2011

AWI army 5- British loyalist army.(WAB05)

This is army number 5 in the Washington's army rules.  This is a British loyalist army fighting in the south. It has  a large number of units but the Indians are poor quality, as are some of the militia.  British regulars are present in the form of veteran light infantry who are superb and Scots infantry too. The sheer size of this army gives the general more flexibility in his battle plan.
The packs provided will cater for the needs of the army but there may be the odd excess figure or short figure that can be diverted to where it is needed.

In WA the placement of the command base indicates the unit quality. Command base at the right/front = veteran. Command base at the centre= average. Command base at left/rear =raw.  This means you can re configure that army at your own whim!

The commanders 3 commanders based on 3x4 cm bases. 1 General based on a 4x4 cm base. The scouts pack is used for one of the commanders to give a more "militia" feel. Artillery 2 battalion guns, each with 4 crew based on 3x3 cm bases. Each of these guns will be attached permanently to a regular infantry unit i.e the Scots.
Cavalry
2 units
3 bases of RAW quality dragoons. One of the three bases will be a 2 figure command base. Based on 3x4 cm bases.

3 bases of AVERAGE quality dragoons. One of the three bases will be a 2 figure command base. Based on 3x4 cm bases.

Markers Figures to show low on ammo, disorder, casualties. All figures individually based on coins as they are markers not a part of the ranks.
Unit 1,2,3,4
Militia

Vet light infantry
These are the best infantry available in the WA rules. 6 bases of veteran light infantry. 3 figures per base. The command base does not have a flag.
Unit 6,7
British (Scottish)line infantry.
These are 4 units of regular line infantry. They are the backbone of the army. Each unit has 6 bases, each of four figures. 1 base of which is command.
Average quality.
Unit 8
Long rifle militia
This unit is armed with the long Pennsylvania rifles. This unit is average quality militia. 6 bases of 3 figures of which one base is the command base. they have a greater range but lower rate of fire.
Unit 9,10
Indians
Indians were great scouting and raiding troops but not at all happy on the battlefield. They are based 3 figures per base. 6 bases per unit. They do not carry flags so make the command base different by basing the figures in a  row as opposed to scattered. Both units are raw. They are all musket armed.

AWI army 6- Continental (American) early war army.(WAB06)

This is army number 6 in the Washington's army rules.  This army is the first semi-regular army that Washington could get in to the field.   Many of the line infantry and militia are untested but keen.  Most of the  line infantry would be state militia (who are regular despite the militia title). It has a useful amount of artillery. Gun carriages can be red or natural wood. Note that the infantry should be mixed up so that some have regular uniform with tricornes and others hunting shirts all within the same unit.

Unit 1,2,3
RAW regular line infantry
These are 3 units of RAW regular line infantry.  Each unit has 6 bases, each of four figures. 1 base of which is command.

Unit 4
Average line infantry
This  unit has 6 bases, each of four figures. 1 base of which is command.
Unit 5
Veteran line infantry
This  unit has 6 bases, each of four figures. 1 base of which is command.  This unit is the very best state militia unit possible. Unit 6,7,8,9
Militia
These are 4 units of RAW quality militia (the battle line in a new experience for them).  Each unit has 6 bases. 1 base of which is the command base. All bases have 3 figures on them  (only line infantry has 4 figures to the base).
